Mobile RV AC Repair — We Fix It Where It's Parked
A broken RV air conditioner in the Carolinas is not a small problem. From May through September, temperatures regularly climb into the 90s — and without working AC, your RV becomes uncomfortable within minutes and uninhabitable within hours. Whether your unit stopped blowing cold, is making strange noises, or quit entirely, Guardians of the Journey can diagnose and repair it on-site, wherever your RV is parked.
No towing. No dealership waitlists. We come to your home, your campground, or your storage facility and get your AC working again — usually the same visit.
RV AC Systems We Service
We specialize in the most common RV air conditioning brands:
Dometic RV Air Conditioners Dometic is one of the most widely used RV AC brands on the market, found in everything from small travel trailers to large Class A motorhomes. We service the full Dometic lineup, including Penguin, Brisk Air, and Blizzard models. Whether it's a capacitor failure, a refrigerant issue, a control board problem, or a compressor that's given out, we've seen it and fixed it.
Coleman RV Air Conditioners Coleman (now manufactured by Airxcel) is another industry staple — reliable when working, but frustrating when it isn't. We service Coleman Mach series units and can handle everything from routine maintenance to full component replacement.
Furrion RV Air Conditioners Furrion is an increasingly common brand in newer travel trailers and fifth wheels, known for their sleek low-profile design and quiet operation. We service Furrion Chill units including diagnostic, component repair, and electrical troubleshooting. If your newer rig came equipped with a Furrion AC and it's giving you trouble, we have the experience to work on it correctly.
Other Brands Have a different brand? Give us a call. We work on a wide range of RV AC systems and can often service units outside our primary specialties.
Common RV AC Problems We Repair
Not blowing cold air The most common complaint — and it has several possible causes, from a refrigerant issue to a failed capacitor to a dirty coil. We diagnose the root cause and fix it properly rather than guessing.
AC running but not cooling enough If your unit is running but your RV still feels warm, the issue could be a low refrigerant charge, a failing compressor, poor airflow from dirty filters or coils, or a unit that's simply undersized for your rig. We'll find out which one.
AC won't turn on Could be a blown fuse, a failed control board, a wiring issue, or a thermostat problem. We troubleshoot the full electrical system to pinpoint the cause.
Loud or unusual noises Banging, rattling, or grinding sounds usually mean something is loose or a component is wearing out. Catching this early prevents a more expensive repair down the road.
Water leaking inside the RV A leaking RV AC is usually a drainage issue — the condensate drain is clogged or the unit isn't level. We clear the blockage and reseal as needed.
AC freezing up Ice on your AC coils means something is restricting airflow or the refrigerant charge is off. We diagnose and correct the underlying cause.
RV AC Maintenance & Tune-Ups
Prevention is always cheaper than repair. Before the summer heat hits — or before a big trip — an AC tune-up is one of the best investments you can make in your RV. Our tune-up service includes:
Cleaning the evaporator and condenser coils
Inspecting and replacing filters
Checking refrigerant levels
Inspecting capacitors and electrical connections
Lubricating fan motors where applicable
Testing overall system performance
Inspecting and resealing the rooftop gasket to prevent leaks and reduce noise
A well-maintained RV AC runs more efficiently, lasts longer, and is far less likely to fail in the middle of a July camping trip.

Frequently Asked Questions — RV AC Repair
How much does mobile RV AC repair cost? Every repair is different depending on what's wrong and what parts are needed. We diagnose the problem first and give you a clear estimate before any work begins. You'll never be surprised by the final bill.
Can you fix my RV AC without me towing it anywhere? Yes — that's exactly what we do. We come to wherever your RV is parked and perform the repair on-site. Most AC repairs are completed in a single visit.
How long does an RV AC repair take? Most repairs take between one and three hours depending on the complexity. A simple capacitor replacement might take 30 minutes; a compressor replacement will take longer. We'll give you a time estimate when we diagnose the issue.
My RV has two AC units — can you service both? Absolutely. Many larger RVs have a front and rear unit. We can inspect, tune up, or repair both in the same visit.
Is it worth repairing an older RV AC or should I replace it? It depends on the age of the unit, the nature of the problem, and the cost of repair versus replacement. We'll give you an honest assessment and let you make the call — we're not in the business of recommending unnecessary replacements.
Do I need to have power available to have my AC worked on? Yes — shore power or a working electrical hookup is required to properly diagnose and repair an RV air conditioner. AC systems need to be running under load for accurate diagnostics, and many repairs require the unit to be powered throughout the process. If your RV is at a campground, a site with electrical hookup works perfectly. If it's at home or in storage, a 30 or 50 amp connection will be needed. Not sure what you have available? Give us a call and we'll figure out the best plan before we head out to you.
Do you service AC units at campgrounds? Yes. If your AC fails mid-trip at a campground in our service area, give us a call and we'll do our best to get out to you quickly.
